New tool for the Waste Management Squad
You’ve probably noticed that the Waste Management Squad is back on our streets this summer, sharing tips on how to properly sort residual materials. Green squad members will inform residents about the materials accepted in the various collections, as well as about sorting, recycling, household composting and using the Kitchen Cone for organic materials. They will also provide tips to help with organic materials collection.
Raising awareness: Sorting residual materials
The squad also ensures that the materials deposited in each collection bin comply with the instructions for the collection in question. They work with residents to ensure good waste management practices so that Pointe-Claire can continue to reduce its ecological footprint.
In the next few days, you may see a sign on your bins indicating that the squad has come to assess the contents of your bin. This will not only help communicate the improvements needed, but also congratulate you on your valuable efforts.
The City of Pointe-Claire deploys these tools to reduce the high cost of landfilling waste in landfill sites that are already almost full. Taking part in the various collections and ecocentres makes a huge difference for the planet.
