After 6 p.m., let the cold water run until it becomes clear. |
On Thursday, October 17, 2024, the City of Montreal will be carrying out maintenance work on the water system. This may lead to:
- A drop in water pressure between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.
- Temporary discolouration of the water (yellowish, brownish, or reddish tint).
These issues are temporary and pose no health risk. However, if they persist after the work is completed, please call the City of Montreal at 311.
Affected area:
North of Hymus Boulevard, between Delmar and Saint-Louis Avenues.
What to do if your water is discoloured?
- Open your cold water tap (preferably the bathtub or kitchen sink) and let the water run until it’s clear.
- If your tap has an aerator, unscrew it before running the water.
- Make sure the water is clear before using water-dependent appliances to avoid stains or damage.
- Avoid using the washing machine during this time.
