Pilot Project – A refrigerated outdoor skating rink as of October to extend the winter activity season

The City of Pointe-Claire announces that a refrigerated skating rink will be set up on the lot at the corner of Chemin du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore and Cartier Avenue to extend the winter activity season for users.

This new ice oval will allow users to enjoy the joys of winter from the end of October until the end of March in the Pointe-Claire Village. This sustainable facility will reduce the need for water to keep the ice surfaces in good condition during the winter months.

A second refrigerated ice rink is also planned for Valois Park. Due to some preliminary work that is required to make the necessary connections for its operation, the timeline for its completion is to be confirmed.

The new refrigerated rink adds to the hockey rinks, public rinks and ice ovals in Alexandre-Bourgeau, Arthur-Séguin, Cedar Park Heights, Clearpoint, Du Voyageur, Hermitage, Ovide, Northview, Seigniory and Valois parks for the 2021-2022 winter season.

Follow the City’s Facebook page to find out when the Pointe-Claire Village ice oval will be open, and get your skates ready!

Visit the Outdoor Skating Rinks and Cross-Country Skiing page throughout the season to find out about the status of the rinks.
