Pointe-Claire and Valois Villages celebrate the spirit of the holidays this weekend
The mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, invites residents to celebrate the holiday spirit at festivities in Pointe-Claire Village on Saturday, November 25, from 1 to 5 p.m., and in Valois Village on Sunday, November 26, from 5 to 8 p.m.
“These events are an opportunity for everyone to meet and support our local merchants as the holiday season approaches. It’s the perfect time to join us as we celebrate and have fun with family and friends,” stated Mayor Belvedere.
These events, organized in collaboration with the merchants associations of both villages, offer a variety of activities, games, and shows in a festive, fun, and magic atmosphere for the whole family.
Starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Pointe-Claire Village will be full of holiday spirit with calèche rides, inflatable games, choir and theatre performances, and a fire show. Hot chocolate will also be served.
The festivities will come to a close with the lighting of the Christmas tree at 5 p.m. at the corner of Sainte-Anne Avenue and Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road.
At the end of the afternoon on Sunday, residents are invited to Valois Village for a community party with Santa Claus and various mascots.
Young children can meet animals in the petting farm, while everyone can take fun pictures at the photo booth and watch the Holiday Train pass through the village. Kids and adults can also enjoy some comforting hot chocolate.
To help the holidays continue to shine after the end of the event, everyone is encouraged to donate non-perishable food. In this spirit of generosity that defines our community, this small gesture can make a big difference for a family in need.
“Everyone is invited to join us for two afternoons full of festivities,” said the mayor in conclusion.
