Pointe-Claire athletes and coaches honoured at Annual Dive Canada Gala
The City of Pointe-Claire is proud to share that two of its athletes, Caeli McKay and Nathan Zsombor-Murray, and two of its coaches, Yihua Li and James ‘Jim’ Wynne, were honoured at the 2025 Annual Dive Canada Gala and received awards for their incredible 2024 seasons.
- Pointe-Claire Dive Club and Olympic diver Nathan Zsombor-Murray, and his Olympic synchro partner Rylan Weiss (Saskatoon), were awarded Male Divers of the Year for 2024. This award is given to an athlete who demonstrated impressive professional, academic and athletic achievement, as well as strong community involvement. Nathan’s 2024 season, which included an Olympic bronze medal in the men’s 10m synchronized, was nothing short of outstanding and is very deserving of this award.
- Pointe-Claire Dive Club and Olympic diver Caeli McKay took home the Female Diver of the Year for 2024. Her remarkable Olympic performances, strong community involvement, and undeniable professional achievements have rightfully earned her this prestigious award.
- Long-time Pointe-Claire Dive Club coach Yihua Li has been awarded the Senior Coach of the year for 2024. Her impressive career as an Olympic diving coach spans decades, and her unwavering work ethic, passion, and values make her a cherished member of the City’s dive team.
- Jim Wynne was named Junior coach of the year for his tremendous 2024 season. His dedication to his athletes and passion for coaching is evident in his ability to mold not only strong athletes but also great individuals.
Congratulations to Nathan, Caeli, Yihua and Jim for their recognition from Diving Canada and for making the community of Pointe-Claire incredibly proud!
