Pointe-Claire athletes excel at the 2023 Canoe Kayak Sprint Provincial Championships

The City of Pointe-Claire is proud to announce that the City’s Canoe Kayak Club has won the 2023 Canoe Kayak Sprint Provincial Championships. All Pointe-Claire athletes were eligible to compete in these nautical events. Each athlete was classed by age group and could participate in single, double or quadruple races of different distances, in canoe or kayak.

Here are the results from the canoe-kayak sprint competition that took place at the Olympic Basin: during the first stage of this provincial championship, the Pointe-Claire Club finished in first place in the following categories: U16 , U18, Open (18 and over), Master (30 and over), Para and Special Olympics 2023. Pointe-Claire finished the first weekend of competition with a cumulative score of 704. The City team had an 88-point lead over the second-placed club.

The event continued at Lac-Beauport from August 18 to 20 for groups M10, M12 and M14. The battle for first place with the Canoe-Kayak Club of Lac-Beauport close until the very end, but our team managed to win the competition with a total of 1059 points, which was only a 2-point lead of their nautical rivals.
