Pointe-Claire Public Works Department rewarded two times by Association des travaux publics du Québec
The City of Pointe-Claire is proud to announce that its Public Works Department has won two awards in TPQuébec’s 2022 recognition program, Les étoiles en travaux publics. The awards were presented at the Recognition Gala held on October 19.
Volunteer of the Year
The first award, Volunteer of the Year, was won by Graeme Maag for his commitment and dedication for more than 40 years within the Pointe-Claire Volunteer Rescue Unit to ensure the well-being of communities. Calm, organized and composed, he facilitates the link between Public Works emergency interventions in the public domain and PCVRU interventions in the private domain.
Health and Safety
The Health and Safety award was won for creating an improvement process to reduce risk, review and enrich the training program, and ensure continuous improvement, the proactiveness of the teams in terms of risk and event management. The cyclic approach of constant improvement in operational risk management with success factors covering human capital, agility and rigour not only promotes prevention and health and safety but also allows the entire organization to constantly improve thanks to everyone’s commitment.
The Public Works Department was also named in two categories:
“Diversity and Inclusion” for establishing an analysis team with a mandate to improve workplace diversity, inclusion and innovation.
“Innovation in Public Works” for creating an improvement process to reduce risk, review and enrich the training program, and ensure continuous improvement, the proactiveness of the teams in terms of risk and event management.
These recognitions highlight the Public Works teams’ dedication and hard work to make Pointe-Claire a better place to live. Congratulations everyone !
