Pointe-Claire renews Financial Assistance Program with Government of Québec and Lifesaving Society
The City of Pointe-Claire is proud to announce the renewal of the Financial Assistance Program for Free Lifeguard and Aquatic Instructor Training with the Government of Québec, in partnership with the Lifesaving Society. As part of the second phase of this project, the City will be receiving $226,156 in funding for the period of April 2024 to March 2025.
This program allows the City to offer the courses leading to lifeguard certification, free of charge, to help alleviate the current labor shortage in this sector, contribute to the safety of public swimming areas and to maintain and increase the City’s aquatic service offering.
The Financial Assistance Program was announced by the Government of Québec in April of 2023 and is set to last until April of 2026. Interested participants are encouraged to take advantage of these free courses while they last.
Registration dates for lifesaving courses
Registration for the winter session of lifesaving courses will commence on November 26 at 7 p.m., while registration for the spring session begins on February 18. Consult the Aquatic programming page on the City’s website for more information on our lifesaving courses.
The City of Pointe-Claire would like to thank the Government of Québec and the Lifesaving Society for this Financial Assistance Program and for their continued support.
