Public Works Day

The Mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, is pleased to invite residents to Public Works Day, which will take place at 100 Terra-Cotta Avenue on Saturday, May 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“This is a great opportunity to meet our employees and learn more about the machines that keep the City’s streets and public spaces clean and safe,” stated Mayor Belvedere.

Several facets of the Public Works Department will be presented. The roads team will simulate a water main break, the horticulture team will host a planting workshop, and the Waste Management Squad will be on hand to answer questions about the various collections. The Environment and Sustainable Development Department will also offer visitors a chance to sample honey produced in Pointe-Claire. At 10:30 a.m., there will be a hike in Terra-Cotta Natural Park with biologists.

The Human Resources Department will be there to present job openings in Public Works. Residents can bring their CV.

Children can also enjoy a crafting workshop, have fun in a kids’ racetrack, play in an inflatable game, get their face painted, and sit in a few trucks. A DJ will provide entertainment, and visitors can enjoy tasty treats from a food truck.

All day long, residents are encouraged to bring non-perishable food, which will be donated to a non-profit organization in the City.
