Québec City shooting – Flags at half-mast to show solidarity

As a sign of solidarity with citizens of Québec City and the Muslim community, the mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Morris Trudeau, has had the Québec City flag added to the flags in front of City Hall. The flags are flown at half-mast following last Sunday’s attack on Québec’s Centre culturel islamique.

“This symbolic gesture expresses our solidarity in these moments of suffering,” says the mayor. “Our thoughts are with all of those who are affected by these tragic events. We condemn these actions that are in conflict with our deepest values.”

“On behalf of all our citizens, we offer our condolences to the victims’ families and loved ones,” concludes Mayor Trudeau.
