October 20 – Second edition of the Grande marche de Pointe-Claire

The mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, and the members of City Council are pleased to invite all residents to the second edition of the Grande marche de Pointe-Claire, which will take place on Sunday, October 20, at Valois Park. Participants can choose to walk 3 or 5 kilometres.

“We encourage the community to take part in this free event for walkers of all ages. The Grande marche is the perfect occasion to move, meet new people, and chat with merchants in the area, all while taking care of your health,” Mayor Belvedere stated.

Starting at 9 a.m., participants are invited to Valois Park, at the Belmont Avenue entrance, where they will be greeted by Valois Village merchants. Kiosks for everyone and an obstacle course for kids will be set up for the occasion. At 9:45 a.m., walkers can take part in a group warm-up. Both distances will start at 10 a.m. Healthy snacks will be available at the finish line and participation prizes will be drawn among all the walkers.

The Grande marche will take place in 101 other cities and municipalities throughout the province simultaneously. The event is the result of a partnership between the Fédération des médecins omnipraticiens du Québec and the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie.
