Update: Additional preventive measures maintained for municipal facilities and activities

Due to the government’s extension of the maximum alert, classes for the fall season at the Aquatic Centre and the preschool skating program have been cancelled. Refunds will be provided for these classes. Due to the large number of cheques to be issued, mailing will begin in mid-December and will take place over several weeks.

Recreational swimming activities have also been added to the schedule:

  • Family swim
  • Junior Lap Swim (ages 9 to 11)

Second wave of COVID-19 – Additional preventive measures maintained for municipal facilities and activities

Due to the government’s extension of the maximum alert (red zone), additional preventive measures for municipal facilities and activities will be maintained until further notice.

Public meetings

Public City Council and Demolition Committee meetings will be held without an audience and made available as a live broadcast and as a recording on the City’s website.

Restricted access to certain municipal buildings

The Central Library and the Valois Branch remain closed to the public. The book chute remains open for returns, and contactless loans are available. For details on the contactless loan procedure, go to the Library page.

The Art Gallery, Kids’ Corner and Reading and Reference Room at the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre are also closed to the public.

Programming of activities

All activity programming is cancelled, on hold or offered virtually through a videoconferencing application.

Recreational activities maintained

Only recreational swimming, skating and canoeing activities are maintained, by reservation only.

Recreational swimming at the Aquatic Centre:

  • Lap swim (12 years and over) and recreational swim for adults are maintained
  • Reservation required

  • Locker rooms are accessible with certain restrictions

Public skating at the Bob-Birnie Arena:

  • Maximum of 23 people per period
  • Priority is given to Pointe-Claire residents
  • Access to locker rooms is not permitted

Open paddle at the Canoe Kayak Club:

These preventive measures are subject to change as the situation evolves. We remind everyone of the need to follow the instructions on physical distancing, wearing a mask or face covering and washing your hands.
