Spring maintenance operations

The City of Pointe-Claire began its spring maintenance operations several weeks ago.

Potholes

Our teams are working hard to repair streets that were damaged this winter. Temperature variations and the thaw cause damage and lead to potholes.

Cleaning streets and sidewalks

Street and sidewalk cleaning operations began last week. This cleaning operation uses a mechanical sweeper to remove dirt and debris that have accumulated during the winter.

Flushing of the water system

From April 15 to August 1, the water system in the entire territory of the City will be flushed, with work taking place from Sunday to Friday, between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. This annual maintenance operation flushes out naturally occurring water mineral deposits from the interior walls of pipes. You will receive a notice on a door hanger to inform you a few days before maintenance begins.

Here are a few recommendations:

  • Avoid washing your clothes or dishes between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • If your water is cloudy or coloured, run the cold water tap until the water is clear again.
  • If your clothes are stained by cloudy or coloured water, you can pick up an easy-to-use cleaning product at City Hall (451 Saint-Jean Boulevard).

In order to make these operations easier, the City is asking residents to avoid parking their vehicles on the street.
