Start of development work on the new bicycle path on Douglas-Shand Avenue
Development work on the new bicycle path on the south side of Douglas-Shand Avenue, between Saint-Jean Boulevard and Maywood Avenue, will continue until the end of July.
Eastbound traffic will occasionally be interrupted during the first week of the project.
To speed up the project and ensure everyone’s safety on the site, Douglas-Shand Avenue eastbound will be restricted for one day during the week of July 3. Starting July 9, the eastbound side of the avenue will once again be restricted for ten consecutive days to allow for excavation, concrete work, and asphalting.
This project will allow the City to continue developing an integrated bicycle path network to encourage and facilitate active transportation and sustainable development. The network will be connected to existing paths on Maywood and Douglas-Shand Avenues.
Access to the Public Library and Civic-Centre Avenue will be maintained at all times.
