Start of preliminary work for the new Grande-Anse chalet
The City of Pointe-Claire would like to inform you that preliminary work for construction of the new Grande-Anse chalet will begin this week. This first stage involves preparing the building for demolition and conducting an archaeological dig of the site.
Construction of the new chalet will begin the week of May 25 and will continue until the end of 2020. The work schedule will depend on how the pandemic progresses. During the work, the chalet parking lot will not be accessible. The new chalet could be open as soon as spring of 2021.
Once built, the new chalet will be accessible to people with reduced mobility and adapted to the needs of the entire community, including visitors to the park, boaters, day camp groups and members of community associations.
The park’s facilities are used by over 4,000 citizens each summer. The new chalet will improve the service offer near Lake Saint-Louis, while preserving the view of the water.
