Start of road work on Hymus Boulevard
The City would like to inform residents that road work will begin on Hymus Boulevard, planned at the intersection of Saint-Jean Boulevard and the section joining Saint-Jean Boulevard and Manfred Avenue. This work will consist of rebuilding the road, sidewalks, and bicycle path; adding rainwater retention basins, and replacing street lighting and traffic lights.
As part of our vision focused on sustainable development, the medians will also be widened to allow for various types of greenery to be planted. The first coat of asphalt will be applied when the current work is complete, and a second coat will be applied in the spring of 2018.
The work will begin in the week of July 3 and continue until December according to the following schedule:
Phase 1: July 3 to late October
Work at the intersection of Saint-Jean Boulevard:
• rebuilding the road and sidewalks,
• rebuilding the bicycle path,
• replacing the street lighting and traffic lights.
Phase 2: Late July to mid-December
Work between Saint-Jean Boulevard and Manfred Avenue:
• rebuilding the pavement and sidewalks,
• rebuilding the bicycle path,
• replacing the street lighting and traffic lights,
• building rainwater retention basins,
• planting greenery in the medians.
Dates are subject to change depending on weather conditions. In order to maintain traffic during the road work, detours will be placed to direct road users.
