Suicide Prevention Week – Prevention is better than death

“Prevention is better than death” is the theme of this year’s Suicide Prevention Week, from February 4 to 10.

For some, suicide can be a very sensitive subject to talk about because of a lack of understanding, fear or discomfort in others. However, it’s important to talk openly about your worries with a loved one or someone you trust.

And if you feel like a loved one or a colleague seems more fragile lately, take the time to listen to them and ask them what’s on their mind. There’s never a bad time to talk about things that are not going well.

Together, let’s demystify suicide!

We also invite you to consult the howtotalkaboutsuicide.com site to demystify the conversation around this delicate subject and find out how to talk about suicide with others. We would also like to remind you of the telephone listening line 1-866-APPELLE (277-3553), available 24/7 for people who are in distress or worried about someone else. Whether it’s for you, a loved one or a colleague, don’t hesitate to talk about it!
