The Art Rental and Sales Service features 150 new works of art for its 50th anniversary

Stewart Hall Art Gallery

The City of Pointe-Claire invites residents to discover the Art Rental and Sales Service’s 2018 collection as part of The Art that Inhabits Us, an exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Stewart Hall Art Gallery’s Art Rental and Sales Service.

Residents are invited to discover this exceptional selection highlighting 50 successful years of the Art Rental and Sales Service, which makes art accessible to everyone.

Since its creation in 1967, the Art Rental and Sales Service has welcomed over 1,050 artists selected by a panel of professionals.

The 2018 collection features 150 works created by 150 artists in three categories: ambassadors, established artists, and emerging artists. The ambassadors of the Art Rental and Sales Service are artists that have made a mark through their recognition within the artistic community and their sales and rental records. Established artists have already participated in the Art Rental and Sales Service’s exhibitions. Emerging artists have less than 10 years of experience and are presenting their works for the first time at the Art Rental and Sales Service.

The exhibition runs until December 3. All works, paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, and mixed media can be purchased or rented starting at $6 per month. Renting is an original and affordable way for residents to bring a work of art into their everyday life at home or at the office.

This year, anyone who purchases or rents an artwork during the exhibition at the Art Gallery will be entered in a draw to win an original work by Pointe-Claire photographer Terri Almond.

The Art Rental and Sales Service is located on the second floor of the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre, 176 Du Bord-du-Lac – Lakeshore Road.
