The City of Pointe-Claire raises community awareness for road safety in the revamped “Road safety, I do my part” campaign

The City of Pointe-Claire is proud to re-introduce the “Road Safety, I do my part” campaign, with an emphasis on its social media awareness initiatives. This year, we are striving to sensitize citizens on the importance of being a safe driver, biker, and pedestrian. In doing so, we hope these initiatives will incite our community to remain courteous, vigilant, and safe while on the road.

Our campaign will promote road safety through various avenues:

  • Weekly themed social media posts discussing appropriate and safe road habits, road accident statistics, and other educational content.
  • Creation of a new website page with an abundance of information regarding the campaign, including strategies, objectives, and road safety precautions.
  • Installation of speed radars throughout the community to enforce safer driving speeds, especially in school zones and areas with high foot traffic.
  • Implement new educational content for a younger demographic who is not of driving age but is nevertheless affected by road safety.
  • And much more.

In an effort to lower the frequency of road accidents in Pointe-Claire, we hope our campaign can evoke reflection in our community and allow residents to develop good safety habits.

Road safety affects all of us, whether you are behind the wheel or on foot. As a community, we must strive to be vigilant, safe and respect the rules of the road.
