The City of Pointe-Claire will entrust its general management to Karina Verdon

The Mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Tim Thomas, and City Council members are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Karina Verdon as City Manager of the City of Pointe-Claire.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in marketing from the École des hautes études commerciales and worked in the private sector at the beginning of her career. She gained solid experience in managing municipal activities and issues in her positions as General Manager and Economic Development Commissioner in the Vaudreuil- Soulanges and Lachine region, where she worked for several years. Currently, she is the General Manager and City Clerk of the City of Coteau-du-Lac.

For the Mayor of Pointe-Claire, Tim Thomas, this new hire is excellent news for the future of the City: “City Council and I are very pleased to welcome Ms. Verdon to the management team. Her understanding of municipal issues will be an asset in terms of service to citizens. With her solid experience and leadership particularly with business development. I am convinced that she will create positive synergy among employees and that her vision will greatly benefit the City’s outreach,” he says of this newest recruit.

As for Ms. Verdon, she says: “I am excited to take up this new challenge. The work team in place has strong expertise and shows great dedication to serving the population, which completely aligns with my values. The ties we will create together will further strengthen the team and pursue the City’s mission of providing quality services to the citizens of Pointe-Claire.

When Ms. Verdon takes office on November 7, she will succeed Daniel Séguin, who is currently acting as interim City Manager. Mr. Séguin will resume his duties as Treasurer and Director of Financial Services.
