The Stewart Hall Art Gallery wins the Prix Télé-Québec – Coup de cœur du jury from the Société des musées du Québec

The City of Pointe-Claire is proud to announce that the Stewart Hall Art Gallery team has been awarded the Prix Télé-Québec – Coup de cœur du jury (Télé-Québec Award – Jury’s Favourite) by the Société des musées du Québec (SMQ) for the exhibition project Breakaways by artist Andréanne Abbondanza-Bergeron, curated by Manel Benchabane.

Presented last Wednesday as part of the SMQ Awards Gala, this prize is awarded to a project that stands out and for which the jury has truly fallen in love.

Exhibited at the Stewart Hall Art Gallery from September 10 to October 22, 2023, Breakaways consisted of a large-scale architectural installation paired with a series of photographic works depicting water and its elusive nature. The profile of the exhibition was raised with the use of video clips directed by Youssef Shoufan, an exhibition catalog and a rich and varied cultural mediation program.

The SMQ Awards recognize excellence in museum practices and reward achievements that have made a significant contribution to the advancement of museology in Quebec.

The exhibition catalog is still available at the Stewart Hall Art Gallery boutique.

Congratulations to all the team members for this great achievement!
