Tribute to Pointe-Claire Olympians
The City of Pointe-Claire celebrated the remarkable achievements of its four athletes who competed in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games during a special event last night.
The honoured athletes were:
- Serena Browne, water polo player
- Patrick Hussey, swimmer*
- Caeli McKay, diver
- Nathan Zsombor-Murray, diver
Mayor Tim Thomas invited coaches, city councillors, members of the city’s sports clubs and employees who have contributed to the athletes’ success to this special ceremony honouring the Olympians.
Each athlete was presented with an honorary plaque and a personalized gift as part of the recognition ceremony. The event also highlighted the work of the coaches from the Aquatic Club who have played a crucial role in developing these athletes and helping them reach the highest levels of sport.
The celebration continued at the Pointe-Claire Aquatic Centre, where the athletes had the opportunity to meet the public during an autograph session. Over 200 people turned out to congratulate them and applaud their efforts.
We would like to once again acknowledge the immense talent of these young athletes, whose accomplishments continue to inspire us.
