Ville de Montréal work on the water supply system on Hymus Boulevard – Possible discoloured water in the area

The Ville de Montréal will be carrying out work on a drinking water supply pipe on Hymus Boulevard on Thursday, January 28, and this could cause water discolouration in the area.

The work involves performing a water shutdown test to determine the impact on the water supply system. A second shutdown will be done later in the year to create a connection to the network for the REM.

This discolouration results from pressure fluctuations in the drinking water supply system that cause mineral particles that are naturally stuck to the walls of the pipe to become detached. It is recommended to let the water run for a few minutes (about 10 to 15 minutes) until it is clear again before using it. The water remains drinkable unless specified otherwise.

Thank you for your understanding.
