Work on Cartier Avenue: Water network improvement
March 21, 2025
The City of Pointe-Claire has been informed that a water shut-off test will be conducted by the City of Montréal this Sunday, March 23, in District 1, near Cartier Avenue and Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road.
Closure of Cartier Avenue starting Wednesday, March 26
If the test results are favorable, water network improvement work, which will last about four weeks, will result in the full closure of Cartier Avenue, between Lanthier Avenue and Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road.
Traffic and detours
During this period, detour routes will be in place through Lourdes and Lanthier Avenues, as well as Victoria and Marie-Anne Avenues.
We ask motorists to exercise caution and reduce their speed to ensure the safety of the workers on site.
Discoloration of drinking water: What to do?
This work may cause fluctuations in water pressure and the temporary discoloration of the water in the area. If you notice discolored water, run your tap on cold until it clears. It is also recommended to avoid doing laundry during this time.
Waste collection
Waste collection will continue in the area throughout the work period. Please place your bins, clearly labeled with your address, in their usual location. Containers that are not accessible to the garbage collectors will be moved by the contractor.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
