Work on Donegani Avenue – Optimization of the drinking water supply system
The City of Montréal’s Service de l’eau wishes to inform you that work on the drinking water supply system will be carried out shortly on Donegani Avenue/Elm Avenue between Beacon Hill Road and Windmill Avenue.
Nature of the work
Flow measurement chamber work.
This work is part of the project to optimize the main drinking water supply system in the greater Montréal area: construction and reparation on a number of flow measurement chambers in the water supply system pipes.
Work duration and schedule
October 10 to 23, 2019, weather permitting
Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Work may be carried out during evenings, nights and weekends
Traffic
- Donegani Avenue/Elm Avenue, between Beacon Hill Road and Windmill Avenue: complete closure with local traffic only controlled by traffic person during the day and traffic lights at night. Detours and alternatives routes proposed.
- Elm Avenue, between Saint-Charles Boulevard and Beacon Hill Road: local traffic only.
- The bike path on Donegani Avenue will remain open to cyclists.
Anticipated impact of this work
Access to buildings: Pedestrian access to the buildings around the work site will be maintained at all times. Sidewalks will be accessible, except during certain stages of the work.
Drinking water supply
A closure of the main pipe is planned but will have no impact on the drinking water supply for most citizens. Only residents concerned will be notified 48 hours in advance by a door sign that will confirm the exact date, time and duration of the temporary interruption.
