Work on drinking water reservoir

The City of Pointe-Claire would like to inform you that the work performed by the City of Montréal will start on Tuesday, September 12, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Pointe-Claire’s drinking water reservoir. These repairs will lead to a temporary interruption of pumping from the station to the reservoir. During this period, you may notice a drop in pressure, as well as a change in the colour of the drinking water coming out of your tap.

Here are some guidelines to follow when dealing with coloured water:

  • If your water is cloudy or coloured, run the tap on cold water until the water is clear again. Despite its colour, the water remains drinkable.
  • If your tap is equipped with an aerator, unscrew the nozzle, and remove it in order to let the water flow.
  • Do not do laundry during this period. If your clothes are stained by cloudy or coloured water, the City is making an easy-to-use cleaning product available to you. To get the product, go to City Hall at 451 Saint-Jean Boulevard.

For more information on the impacts of this work, visit the City of Montréal’s website, montreal.ca, and enter the key phrase “discoloured water” or “low water pressure” in the search engine.

Thank you for your cooperation.
