Update: Hydro-Québec work cancelled

Work – Reconstruction of Hydro-Quebec’s underground chamber on Saint-Jean Boulevard

The City of Pointe-Claire would like to inform you that Hydro-Québec will proceed with reconstruction work on their underground chamber from Tuesday, August 8 until October 2023 on Saint-Jean Boulevard, between Labrosse Avenue and Brunswick Boulevard. These repairs will be conducted in four construction phases. They will cause various disruptions to traffic flow on Brunswick Boulevard.
The first work period will begin on August 8 and 9. This will cause an obstruction in the left lane on Saint-Jean Boulevard heading south.
From August 10 to September 4, drivers will be restricted to the left southbound lane on Saint-Jean Boulevard, between Labrosse Avenue and Brunswick Boulevard. This second phase of repairs will cause the narrowing of the left northbound lane on Saint-Jean Boulevard. This will not affect motorists heading toward Labrosse Avenue West.
From September 5 to 29, construction work on the underground chamber will cause disruptions on the two right southbound lanes on Saint-Jean Boulevard. The narrowing of the left northbound lane on Saint-Jean Boulevard will still be in effect during this period. People coming from Saint-Jean boulevard southbound will not be able to make a left turn to Labrosse avenue eastbound during phases 2 and 3.
The fourth and final phase of this work will be from September 30 to October 13. This will cause a disruption in the left lane on Saint-Jean Boulevard heading south.
Although these are the current expected construction dates, they are subject to change according to weather conditions.
