The City of Pointe-Claire has been informed that, following the water shut-off test conducted last Sunday by the City of Montreal, the maintenance work on the main water network scheduled for this week on Cartier Avenue has been postponed.

No date has yet been confirmed. We will keep you informed as soon as we receive updates from the City of Montreal.

We would also like to remind residents that the intervention that took place this weekend has caused discolored drinking water in some areas. When this occurs, please let cold water run until it becomes clear. It is advisable to avoid doing laundry during this time.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Work: Testing of Drinking Water Shutdown in District 1

September 20, 2024

The City of Pointe-Claire has been informed that a drinking water shutdown test will be conducted this Sunday, September 22, by the City of Montreal in District 1, near Cartier Avenue and Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road. This intervention may cause variations in water pressure and discoloration in the area.

If you notice that the water is discolored, please run cold water until it is clear. It is advisable to avoid doing laundry during this time.

This test is being conducted in preparation for maintenance work on the main water supply, scheduled to begin on Monday, September 23, on Cartier Avenue, between Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road and Lanthier Avenue. The estimated duration of the work is two to three weeks.

During this period, detour routes will be set up via Lourdes and Lanthier Avenues, as well as Victoria and Marie-Anne Avenues.

We encourage drivers to remain vigilant and to slow down for the safety of the workers.

Thank you for your cooperation.
