Expected Heavy Rainfall on October 30 and 31, 2025

The City of Pointe-Claire would like to inform you that heavy rainfall is expected on October 30 and 31, according to recent forecasts by Environment Canada. 

During rainstorms, it is important to take precautions and remain vigilant to help prevent water infiltration into your home.

In keeping with standard practice, City workers have been mobilized to intervene and maintain City stormwater infrastructure to ensure its efficiency during this period.

We remind residents of the various preventive measures that can help protect their homes from water infiltration, including:

• Verifying that your submersible sump pump is functioning properly
• Cleaning out your gutters of leaves and debris
• Making sure your downspout is unobstructed and redirects water at least 2 m (6 ft) away from your home’s foundation
• Checking that your basement’s backflow valve is functional
• Removing valuable items and electronics from your basement
