Heavy Rainfall of June 20, 2026 – Special Collections Continue
Please note that special collections are continuing throughout the city.
Collection crews are actively working and will continue operations tomorrow, Saturday, July 4. These special collections will also continue over the coming weeks.
You may continue to place flood-related debris at the curb. No registration is required, as collection trucks are currently circulating throughout the city.
Collection Guidelines
To help ensure an efficient collection, please follow these instructions:
- Place debris in your driveway, at the curb. It may be placed there immediately.
- Sort debris by material type and place it in an orderly manner. Avoid disorganized piles. Proper sorting helps crews collect materials more efficiently.
- Remove nails, screws, broken glass, and any other sharp or hazardous objects before collection. These items pose a serious safety risk to collection crews.
- Exceptionally for this collection, all flood-damaged items and materials will be accepted (e.g. upholstered furniture, construction materials, etc.).
- Household hazardous waste, electronic devices, and appliances containing halocarbons (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, etc.) must not be included in this collection. Please consult the Search by Material tool to find out how to dispose of these items properly.
- Individual items must not exceed 220 lb (100 kg) and maximum dimensions of 6 ft (1.8 m) by 4 ft (1.2 m).
- Plastic bags containing debris must not weigh more than 55 lb (25 kg).
- Whenever possible, tie items into bundles to prevent scattering and make collection easier.
Please be assured that municipal crews remain fully mobilized to support residents throughout the cleanup effort.

If you have flood-related debris, you don’t need to wait until everything has been gathered. You may place it at the curb now. No registration is required, as collection trucks are circulating throughout the City.

The special collection for flood-related debris will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, June 23.
If you have debris to be collected, please place it safely at the curb as soon as possible. No registration is required: our crews will be working in the affected areas over the coming days.

Following the heavy rainfall on June 20, 2026, the City of Pointe-Claire wishes to inform you that special collections will be carried out immediately and exclusively for residents who sustained flood-related damage.
Collection Dates
These collections will take place over an extended period. The dates will be announced shortly, and we invite you to monitor the City’s communications.
Collection Guidelines
To be collected, your debris may be placed now in your driveway, at the curb, in accordance with the following guidelines:
- Debris must be placed in an orderly manner and sorted by type of material. Please avoid disorganized piles. Proper sorting helps facilitate collection and speeds up the work of crews in the field.
- Nails, screws, broken glass, or any other sharp or dangerous items must be removed from materials before collection. These items pose a serious risk of injury to the employees responsible for the collection.
- Exceptionally, for this collection, we will accept all types of flood-damaged items and materials, such as upholstered furniture, construction materials, and other similar items.
- Household hazardous waste, electronic devices, and appliances containing halocarbons, such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, etc., must not be discarded under any circumstances as part of this collection. - Each item must not weigh more than 220 lb. (100 kg), and the maximum dimensions are 1.8 m (6 ft.) by 1.2 m (4 ft.).
- Debris placed in plastic bags must not weigh more than 55 lb. (25 kg).
- Whenever possible, items should be tied in bundles to prevent scattering and make collection easier.
