Waste Management Squad

The Waste Management Brigade helps residents adopt good practices for waste sorting, collection, and waste management.

From May to August, members of the Waste Management Brigade travel through Pointe-Claire neighbourhoods by bicycle to meet with residents.
Their mission is to inform, educate, and support the community in adopting good waste management practices.

How can the Brigade help you?

The Waste Management Brigade can:

  • Answer your questions about recycling, composting, and the various collection services offered by the City;
  • Help you determine where to dispose of specific items or materials;
  • Provide personalized advice to improve sorting practices at home;
  • Explain the reasons why a collection may have been refused and the corrective measures to take;
  • Inform you about the City's environmental programs and services.

Bin inspections

To better understand sorting habits and provide appropriate support, Brigade members conduct a visual inspection of bins placed at the curb.

This process helps identify common sorting mistakes and better inform residents. When appropriate, a door hanger may be left to recognize good sorting practices, provide advice, or explain items that need to be corrected.
