Waste Management Squad

The Waste Management Squad supports residents in adopting best practices for sorting, collection, and waste management.

From May through August, team members will be circulating throughout the City to meet residents.

Services offered to the public

As part of their activities, the members conduct door-to-door visits to answer residents’ questions, raise awareness about proper waste sorting, and help them better understand the City’s various collection services.

The Waste Management Squad also carries out basic inspections of recycling, organic waste, and garbage bins. It checks for food residue in organic waste bins and inspects items placed out for bulk waste collection.

Depending on what is observed, Waste Management Squad members may leave door hangers to congratulate residents, highlight issues that need correction, or explain why a collection was refused.

In addition to field work, the Waste Management Squad offers on-demand at-home sorting support and an information service via phone to answer residents’ questions. To book an appointment with a member of the Waste Management Squad, contact tp@pointe-claire.ca or call 514-630-1230, extension 1962.

The Waste Management Squad also participates in various City events to inform the public and promote best practices in waste management.
