Thank you for participating in Earth Day 2026. The tree distribution is now finished for this year.
Earth Day
Each year, the City of Pointe-Claire celebrates Earth Day by encouraging residents to green their surroundings. It’s a simple and meaningful way to take action for the planet, one tree at a time.
Celebrated globally on April 22, Earth Day is an opportunity to reflect on how we care for our environment. In Pointe-Claire, the City has marked the occasion for several years by offering trees free of charge to residents.
A meaningful way to support Pointe-Claire’s urban canopy and protect local biodiversity, while taking simple, concrete action for the planet.
Plant a tree for Earth Day
As part of this annual initiative, on April 25, the City is pleased to offer hundreds of trees free of charge to residents who register online. It’s a great opportunity to enhance your property while contributing to a greener, healthier community.
Choosing the right tree
Whether your yard is shaded or gets full sun, selecting the right species is essential. We recommend reviewing the list of available trees ahead of time to help guide your choice before reservations open.
New to tree planting? No problem. Our planting guide will walk you through where and how to plant your tree with confidence.
You can also speak directly with an arborist on Thursday, April 9, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 514-630-1230 for advice and support in selecting the right tree for your space.
How to reserve your tree
Residents can request a tree by completing the online reservation form between April 13 at 12:00 p.m. and April 22 at 11:59 p.m.
Be sure to act quickly! The first 100 registrants will also receive a free rain barrel. Have your MULTI card ready when making your reservation.
Please note, trees must be planted on your property, within Pointe-Claire city limits. An arborist will visit in the weeks following distribution to ensure the tree has been properly planted and is in good condition.
