City Investigating the Cutting of Trees in Pointe-Claire Village

The Mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere and the administration were made aware that trees were cut down in Pointe-Claire Village. Upon being notified of the situation, we immediately initiated the appropriate administrative steps to determine whether all applicable municipal regulations were complied with. The investigation is still underway.

The City will continue to pursue all necessary actions in accordance with applicable administrative and regulatory processes and will ensure that all appropriate measures are taken. Residents can be assured that this matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness and that protecting Pointe-Claire’s tree canopy remains a priority for the municipal administration.

Not to impede the ongoing proceedings, the City of Pointe-Claire will not comment further on the situation at this time,
