2026 Library Getaway Festival: Discover Greece!

From October 21 to 24, the Pointe-Claire Public Library invites residents to take part in the Library Getaway Festival and embark on a journey to discover Greece!

This year, immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Greece, the birthplace of democracy and a country rich in history, mythology, traditions and vibrant culture. Over four days, the Library will offer a diverse program for the whole family, inviting visitors to discover Greece from many different perspectives.

Here’s a glimpse of what’s on the program:

• An opening lecture exploring Greece’s history and heritage, from Antiquity to the present day;
• A virtual reality experience offering the chance to explore Greece’s landscapes and wonders without leaving the Library;
• Games and activities for children, including a Greek mythology escape room, story time and a craft activity;
• Movies, including a screening of Zorba the Greek and a family screening of Disney’s Hercules, preceded by a fun Kahoot! quiz;
• Greek culinary discoveries, including a tasting of Greek bites and a tasting of ouzo and tsipouro;
• Traditional Greek dance performances, followed by interactive sessions where visitors can join in the fun;
• Games and traditions, including tavli, a traditional Greek board game, a broken-plate puzzle and a booth featuring traditional Greek clothing.

Registration is required for some activities.
