The City of Pointe-Claire is pleased to invite residents to celebrate Halloween with a fun-filled lineup of enchanting activities for the whole family!

Friday, October 16

Night Falls at Stewart Hall — 6:30 p.m.

Ages 6 to 12 | Bilingual activity

Join us for an unforgettable and spooky evening at the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre (176 du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road)!

On the programme:

• A short flashlight-guided tour of the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre;

• Scary stories told by Louise Standjoski, the unofficial storyteller of the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre, about Stewart Hall and the Village of Pointe-Claire.

Don’t forget your flashlight! You never know when you might need it.

A Day of Activities for the Whole Family — 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Join us at the Olive-Urquhart Sports Centre (230 Brunswick Boulevard) for a day filled with surprises and treats. The site is accessible to everyone.

Activities and entertainment:

• Game stations;

• Giant games;

• Roving entertainment;

• Children’s wax hand-making;

• Halloween photo booth;

• Arts and crafts with the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre;

• Hot chocolate and candy for children, at no cost;

• Hocus Pocus scavenger hunt.

Looking for a little treat between activities?

• BBQ ($);

• Coffee and espresso station ($);

• Cookie cart ($);

• Popcorn and cotton candy, at no cost.

Food vendors will be located in the Sports Centre’s rear parking lot, while all activities and games will take place in the gymnasium.

Family Art Workshop

Ages 6 to 12 | Bilingual activity

Spend quality time with your family and explore your creativity during a colourful art workshop inspired by the current exhibition in the Youth Corner at the Stewart Hall Cultural Centre (176 du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road). The creative session will begin with a friendly guided tour of the exhibition.

Witches’ Dance — 3:15 p.m.

The Pointe-Claire Public Library – Central (100 Douglas-Shand Avenue) invites you to come and watch Pointe-Claire’s witches and wizards gather in front of the library to perform their dance.

Halloween: A Celebration for Everyone

To make Halloween inclusive for everyone, the City reminds residents that “Accessible Property” signs are available at City Hall (451 Saint-Jean Boulevard), the Recreation Building (94 Douglas-Shand Avenue) and the Pointe-Claire Public Library – Central (100 Douglas-Shand Avenue). These signs let trick-or-treaters know that your property is accessible for candy collection and help make Halloween more inclusive. 

You can also visit the Treat Accessibly website at any time for accessibility tips to help everyone fully enjoy the celebration, including:

• Clear your walkways of any obstacles;

• Make sure the path to your candy-distribution area is well lit.

In addition, Allergies Québec encourages families to place a teal pumpkin in front of their home to indicate that non-food treats are available.
