Published on June 25, 2025 to 3:29 p.m.

The City of Pointe-Claire is pleased to present Archives and Democracy, its very first exhibition on the theme of municipal elections.

This temporary exhibition, created by the Legal Affairs and City Clerk’s Department, lets you relive key moments in our city’s democratic life. It explains how the electoral system was designed and how it has changedover time.

Looking at these archive images will allow you to learn more about:

  • the first male and female mayors
  • the right to vote
  • the role of electoral archives
  • the timeline

The exhibition is presented at Pointe-Claire City Hall, 451 Saint-Jean Boulevard, next to the taxation counter, during opening hours. It will be open to the public until November 2025.

A great opportunity to learn more about our municipal history and the importance of democratic involvement, and  prepare for the municipal elections on November 2, 2025.
