Remembrance Day: Flags at Half-Mast in Memory of Veterans
The City of Pointe-Claire will fly its flags at half-mast on November 8, during the Remembrance Day commemorative ceremony held in honour of veterans.
The flags will also be flown at half-mast on November 11, from sunrise to sunset, to honour those who lost their lives in combat and all those who have served their country.
Each year, Remembrance Day gives us an opportunity to pause and remember the sacrifices made in the name of freedom and peace. This commemoration is a time to recognize the contributions of those who served and to honour the memory of those who lost their lives in armed conflicts.
The City invites residents to wear a poppy, the symbol of Remembrance, in honour of those who sacrificed their lives to defend the freedom we enjoy today.
