Mr. Paul Bissonnette Honored by the UMQ for 20 Years of Service to Pointe-Claire

The City of Pointe-Claire is proud to announce that Mr. Paul Bissonnette, City Councillor for District 2 – Lakeside, was honored during the annual UMQ conference held in May.

This tribute, presented by Mayor Tim Thomas on behalf of the UMQ at the City Council meeting held on June 3, 2025, highlights Mr. Bissonnette’s twenty years of service as a municipal councillor for the City of Pointe-Claire.

Since 2005, Mr. Bissonnette has stood out not only for his unwavering commitment to the community but also for his near-constant presence at City Council meetings.

A deeply dedicated councillor, particularly involved with seniors, Mr. Bissonnette has consistently demonstrated attentiveness and initiative in addressing the needs of his fellow citizens. His enthusiasm, human approach, and dedication make him a respected and appreciated elected official, known both for his seriousness and for his involvement, which contributes to enriching local community life.

A native of Pointe-Claire, where his family has lived for over a century, Mr. Bissonnette is now retired after a career of more than thirty years in the business world. Among his many initiatives, he was the driving force behind the Shuttle Bus for Seniors in partnership with the STM, and co-founder of ABOVAS, a volunteer medical transportation service.
