Mr. Hafid Ouali Appointed Director of Public Works

The Mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, John Belvedere, and members of City Council are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Hafid Ouali as Director of Public Works for the City of Pointe-Claire. 

Mr. Ouali holds an MBA and has completed university studies in civil engineering and management. He is a seasoned municipal manager with more than 22 years of experience overseeing property portfolios, infrastructure and public works operations. 

Throughout his extensive career, he has held a variety of positions with several large municipalities before joining the City of Pointe-Claire. He spent more than six years with the City of Terrebonne and nearly nine years with the City of Repentigny, where he held several roles, including Operations Manager, Assistant Director of Public Works, Assistant Director of Territory Maintenance and Director of Public Works. He has also shared his public works expertise in the field of education and professional training at the college level with Cégep de Saint-Laurent. 

Mr. Ouali joined the City of Pointe-Claire in October 2024 as Senior Manager, Public Works and Buildings. His expertise has helped optimize work-tracking processes and resource allocation, while supporting his teams in identifying innovative solutions. Since March 2026, he has served as Interim Director of Public Works and Buildings.

During this period, he has already demonstrated his ability to mobilize teams and maintain high-quality service delivery for the entire community,” said John Belvedere, Mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire. 

Mr. Ouali had been serving as Interim Director of Public Works since March 2026. His appointment formally confirms him in the role and the responsibilities associated with it.
