A new campaign to improve waste sorting
The City of Pointe-Claire is launching a new awareness campaign to help residents better sort their waste and reduce the amount sent to landfill.
At the heart of this initiative is the Bin Team, a trio of young athletes who embody the importance of practice and discipline, values that are key to building good sorting habits every day.
Made up of three athletes representing hockey, soccer, and swimming, the Bin Team reflects Pointe-Claire’s strong sports culture. Through this campaign, they’ll guide residents with simple, practical tips to help improve everyday habits.
A Campaign to be a Bin Pro
The campaign encourages residents to be a bin pros by:
- knowing which bin each item belongs in
- properly preparing materials before collection
- adopting better habits to reduce waste
When sorted correctly, recyclable and organic materials can be recovered, and some items can even be reused, helping protect the environment.
The campaign will run throughout the year across the City’s various platforms, including its website, social media channels, and municipal communications.
A Simple Action With Real Impact
By improving sorting practices, residents directly help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and conserve resources. Together, we can make Pointe-Claire a leader in responsible, sustainable practices.
