Update: MTMD Work – Overnight Closure of the Saint-Jean Boulevard Overpass Above Félix-Leclerc Highway (A-40)

The City of Pointe-Claire has been informed by the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD) that the overnight emergency work on the Saint-Jean Boulevard overpass above Félix-Leclerc Highway (A-40) will continue from August 2 to 7, between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Southbound Closure of Saint-Jean Boulevard

From August 2 to 7, Saint-Jean Boulevard will be closed to southbound traffic on the overpass above Félix-Leclerc Highway (A-40), between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Motorists will be required to follow this detour:

  • Westbound Highway 40 service road; 
  • Saint-Charles Boulevard overpass, then southbound Saint-Charles Boulevard; 
  • Eastbound Highway 40 service road; 
  • Saint-Jean Boulevard exit ramp. 

We encourage motorists to plan their trips, obey the posted signage and slow down when approaching the work zone to help ensure everyone's safety.

MTMD Work – Overnight Closures of the Saint-Jean Boulevard Overpass

July 26, 2026

The City of Pointe-Claire has been informed by the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD) that emergency overnight work will be carried out on the Saint-Jean Boulevard overpass, over Highway Félix-Leclerc (A-40), from July 26 to 31, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Police officers will be on site to help ensure smooth traffic flow.

Southbound Saint-Jean Boulevard Closure

From July 26 to 28, Saint-Jean Boulevard will be closed to southbound traffic from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists will have to follow the detour below:

  • Westbound service road;
  • Saint-Charles Boulevard ramp;
  • Southbound Saint-Charles Boulevard;
  • Ramp toward the eastbound service road of Highway Félix-Leclerc (A-40);
  • Eastbound service road;
  • Saint-Jean Boulevard ramp.

Northbound Saint-Jean Boulevard Closure

From July 28 to 31, Saint-Jean Boulevard will be closed to northbound traffic from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists will have to follow the detour below:

  • Entrance ramp to the eastbound service road;
  • Eastbound service road;
  • Des Sources Boulevard ramp;
  • Northbound Des Sources Boulevard;
  • Ramp toward the westbound service road of Highway Félix-Leclerc (A-40);
  • Westbound service road;
  • Saint-Jean Boulevard ramp.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly, follow posted signage and slow down when approaching the work zone to ensure everyone’s safety.

Extension of Nighttime Closures of the Saint-Jean Boulevard Overpass Above Highway 40 (Autoroute Félix-Leclerc)

July 15, 2026

The City of Pointe-Claire has been informed by the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD) that the overnight emergency work on the Saint-Jean Boulevard overpass over Félix-Leclerc Highway (40) has been extended in both directions.

  • Northbound: work will continue until July 17, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Southbound: work is scheduled from July 19 to 24, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Mobilization operations will begin as early as 8 p.m. to secure the area before work starts.

Police officers will be on site to help maintain traffic flow.

The City of Pointe-Claire informs you of the planned detours as part of the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD) emergency overnight work on the Saint-Jean Boulevard overpass, above Highway Félix-Leclerc (A-40), taking place from July 12 to 16 and on July 19.

Northbound Closure of the Saint-Jean Boulevard Overpass

From July 12 to 14, Saint-Jean Boulevard will be closed to northbound traffic from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists will have to follow the following detour:

  • Eastbound Hymus Boulevard;
  • Southbound Delmar Avenue;
  • Eastbound service road;
  • Des Sources Boulevard ramp;
  • Northbound Des Sources Boulevard;
  • Ramp toward the westbound service road of Highway Félix-Leclerc (A-40);
  • Westbound service road;
  • Saint-Jean Boulevard ramp.

Southbound Closure of the Saint-Jean Boulevard Overpass

On July 15, 16 and 19, Saint-Jean Boulevard will be closed to southbound traffic from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Motorists will have to follow the following detour:

  • Westbound service road;
  • Saint-Charles Boulevard ramp;
  • Southbound Saint-Charles Boulevard;
  • Ramp toward the eastbound service road of Highway Félix-Leclerc (A-40);
  • Eastbound service road;
  • Saint-Jean Boulevard ramp.

We remind motorists to plan their trips, follow posted signage and reduce their speed when approaching the work zone to ensure everyone’s safety.

MTMD Work – Overnight Closures of the Saint-Jean Boulevard Overpass

The City of Pointe-Claire has been informed by the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD) that emergency overnight work will be carried out on the Saint-Jean Boulevard overpass, above Highway Félix-Leclerc (A-40), from July 12 to 16 and on July 19, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Site preparations will begin as early as 8 p.m. to secure the work area before the start of the construction work. 

A police presence will be deployed on site to help ensure smooth traffic flow.

Northbound Saint-Jean Boulevard Closure

From July 12 to 14, Saint-Jean Boulevard will be closed to northbound traffic from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Southbound Saint-Jean Boulevard Closure

On July 15, 16 and 19, Saint-Jean Boulevard will be closed to southbound traffic from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Detour routes will be communicated at a later time.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly, follow posted signage and slow down when approaching the work zone to ensure everyone’s safety.
