Soil Analysis Work on Pointe-Claire’s Public Shorelines
The City of Pointe-Claire wishes to inform you that drilling work on the public shorelines will begin on Monday, November 3, and will last approximately two weeks.
This mobile work will take place between Des Sources Boulevard and Saint-Joachim Avenue. During this period, traffic may be slowed or partially restricted at certain points on Du Bord-du-Lac–Lakeshore Road.
Stages of work
The work will be carried out in two stages:
Set-up and drilling
Crews will set up on the grassy areas of the public shorelines using specialized machinery. Some sections of road may be temporarily blocked.
Soil sampling
Workers will be taking soil samples from the shores and, in some places, in the water. You may see personnel and equipment along Lake Saint-Louis.
What does a drilling project involves?
Drilling consists of digging or drilling into the ground using small, specialized equipment to take samples for compositional analysis.
Why is this work being done?
These analyses will give the City a better understanding of the soil’s characteristics before designing the public shoreline restructuring project. The results will help plan the next steps safely and efficiently.
Thank you for your cooperation.
