Archaeological Excavations on Saint-Joachim and Sainte-Anne Avenues

This summer, the City of Pointe-Claire will carry out archaeological excavations on Saint-Joachim and Sainte-Anne Avenues, in District 1 – Cedar / Le Village.

Description

Location: on Saint-Joachim and Sainte-Anne Avenues

The work includes:

  • Opening of excavation trenches on Saint-Joachim and Sainte-Anne avenues;
  • Archaeological digs in open trenches;
  • Closure of completed excavation trenches, followed by the opening of new trenches. 

These steps will continue until the work is completed.

Timeline

Archaeological excavations begin: June 25, 2026

Archaeological excavations end: August 24, 2026

Landscaping and finishing work may continue in the area until September 15.

Circulation

To minimize the impact on the area and on traffic, the excavations are to be carried out in several separate stages, which will be coordinated with the Contractor and the Archaeologist. A maximum of three excavations can be opened simultaneously.
