Administration of Oaths
The Commissioner of Oaths will administer your oaths before you sign a document or testify. Residents may need access to this service for an official document such as a life certificate, authorization to travel with a minor, among other documentation.
The service is offered at the Multiservices counter on Thursdays and Fridays by appointment and only for the following official documents:
- A life certificate
- A solemn declaration
- A letter of consent for a child travelling abroad
- Proof of residence for a health insurance card
- An accommodation certificate
Several City Hall employees are Commissioners of Oaths in the province Québec as registered by the Ministry of Justice Quebec.
Cost
The cost is $5 per sworn document.
Procedure
To swear to a document, you must:
- Be a resident of Pointe-Claire.
- Make an appointment for a Thursday or Friday before coming to City Hall.
- Fill out the required documentation before your appointment.
- Appear in person at the City Hall service counter with the required documents and a photo ID containing your address.
