Christmas Trees

The collection of Christmas trees will take place on Friday, January 9, 2026, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Do you have a natural Christmas tree? A special collection is scheduled for January for you to dispose of it.

All natural trees are accepted (fir, pine, spruce, birch). By participating in the collection, you ensure that your tree is valued and transformed into wood chips or compost rather than being sent to a landfill.

Some Guidelines to Follow

It is important that the tree is accessible during collection. To prevent it from being buried under snow or ice, it is requested to place it in your driveway at the edge of the public road only the day before collection.

  • The trunk diameter must not exceed 13 cm (5 inches),
  • The height of the tree must not exceed 2.5 m (8 feet),
  • Decorations must be removed,
  • The tree must not be in a plastic bag,
  • The tree must be placed horizontally at the edge of the street (and not vertically in the snow).

Other Drop-off Points

Did you forget to put out your tree during the January collection? Don't worry! They are accepted at the ecocentres. Visit one of the ecocentres in the Montreal agglomeration: the closest ones are located in Saint-Laurent and LaSalle.

If you cannot go to an ecocentre, we invite you to place your tree at the entrance of your property, next to your bin, during the next domestic waste collection.
