Eco-Nico

As part of its efforts to educate and raise awareness about the ecological transition, the City of Pointe-Claire is proud to present Eco-Nico, the city's new environmental ambassador. This winged spokesperson will serve as a tool to inform, raise awareness, and educate residents about the various environmental measures and sustainable development projects of the municipality.

The goal is to generate more interest and make environmental topics more accessible to the Pointe-Claire community, as well as to encourage everyone to think more ecologically and integrate sustainable habits into their daily routine.

Taking an interest in and being open to learning about environmental issues and actively working to resolve them is the first step towards a greener and more sustainable community.

Development of the Idea

The bumblebee is the source of inspiration for this ambassador, as these pollinators play a central and crucial role in our environment and ecosystems and are responsible for a large portion of the food we consume daily.

The hardworking and dedicated nature of bees was also an appropriate attribute for our ambassador, who strives to take action and tackle important environmental issues.

Eco-Nico will be used differently depending on the subject and context: it will help make technical and scientific terms more accessible, raise awareness, and encourage good sustainable habits in a positive and stimulating way and, hopefully, generate interest in the city's environmental actions and initiatives.
