Trespassing at the Public Works Yard
The City of Pointe-Claire would like to remind residents that the Public Works site, including the outdoor yard, is strictly reserved for authorized personnel. Residents are only permitted on-site during ecocentre events; at all other times, access is prohibited and crossing the barrier is not allowed.
In recent weeks, there have been several incidents of unauthorized access, and in some cases, thefts have been reported. Entering the site without permission is a violation, and offenders are subject to legal action.
Please note that this is an active work environment, with heavy machinery and potentially hazardous materials. Entering without authorization is not only forbidden, but also dangerous, as clearly indicated by the signage at the entrance.
The site is under continuous video surveillance, and footage is shared with the appropriate authorities to help identify individuals involved.
The City takes this situation very seriously and is working closely with the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) to ensure the safety of the site and its workers.
In light of a recent act of vandalism at the Hermitage Park chalet, continued vigilance from everyone remains essential. We encourage residents to report any suspicious activity to the SPVM by calling 911.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued vigilance.
