Recommendations
Before the Water Closure
- Fill clean containers with enough water to meet your essential needs, with at least 2 litres per person per day (drinking, cooking, washing).
- Fill your bathtub or prepare buckets of water to manually flush your toilet during the interruption.
During the Water Closure
- Avoid using appliances that require water, such as dishwashers and washing machines.
- Turn off water supply lines to refrigerators with water dispensers and ice makers.
- Ensure all taps are closed to prevent splashing or flooding once water is restored.
During a boil water advisory
- Boil water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, washing fruits and vegetables, or preparing baby formula.
- Alternatively, you may use bottled water for these purposes.
- Unboiled tap water may be used for bathing or showering but avoid swallowing the water.
- Continue to follow precautions until you receive a paper notice stating the advisory has been lifted.
