Stair Replacement Work at Cedar Park Heights
The City of Pointe-Claire has been informed by the contractor that, due to circumstances beyond our control, the stair replacement work at Cedar Park Heights will continue until the end of August.
Traffic During the Work
Access to the stairs connecting the sports fields to Hickory and Inglewood avenues will remain closed for the duration of the construction work.
The park entrance on Hickory Avenue is also closed. However, visitors can still access the upper part of the park via Inglewood Avenue by following the trails through the woods.
Temporary closures may be required at certain stages of the project to ensure the safe and efficient completion of the work.
Signs will remain in place to indicate which paths are accessible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Stair Replacement Work to Begin at Cedar Park Heights Park
May 20, 2026
The City of Pointe-Claire informs you that work at Cedar Park Heights Park began this week and will continue until the end of June.
The work will replace the existing stairs with a natural stone staircase, harmoniously integrated into the slope of the land. Natural stones will be placed on either side of the staircase to stabilize the embankment, soften the slope, and create terraces in the planting area, thus facilitating maintenance.
The project also includes the installation of handrails on each side of the staircase, equipped with integrated lighting. In addition, it includes planting vegetation over an area of approximately 136 m² (1,464 square feet) and refurbishment of a section of the adjacent pathway.
As a preventive measure and to ensure everyone’s safety, pedestrian traffic will be detoured on certain park pathways during this period. Local traffic will be maintained at all times.
Thank you for your cooperation.
