Work at the Elgin Avenue Green Space

The City of Pointe-Claire wishes to inform you that landscaping work will begin at  the Elgin Avenue green space during the week of August 11, 2025, and will continue until the end of October 2025. These dates are subject to change depending on  weather conditions.

This work will include:

• Constructing a bioretention area;
• Repairing the trail and the lighting system;
• Sodding and planting.

What is a bioretention area?

This is an area landscaped with plants, sand and soil that naturally filters rainwater. This water is cleaned before it returns to the soil or drainage system.

This type of landscaping helps to:

• Reduce the risk of sewer backups;
• Prevent water ponding;
• Improve water and soil quality.

Traffic during the work

Traffic will be maintained during the work. Road users are asked to remain more vigilant and slow down to keep the workers safe.
